Painting in Oils

Weekly Oil Painting Classes

Learn from our capable and popular tutors who will give you personal guidance on how to use the beautiful and classical medium of oil paints.

You will discover the unique pleasure of working in oils - a medium that enables even beginners to achieve a painting with a professional texture and finish.

These art classes are relaxed and friendly, with a good blend of demonstration, instruction and individual painting.

Overview of this Art Class

We will begin with a  few colours, brushes, and tools. You'll be surprised what you can achieve in a short time with some basic materials.

Over eight weeks you will learn the basic painting skills of colour mixing, tonal relationships, good design, paint application, 'drawing' with paint, and painting the light.

Our approach will incorporate subject matter ranging from still life and landscapes. These subjects provide an ideal way for your tutor to help you learn how a professional artist uses oil paints to incorporate colour and light into their artworks.
