Mio began her creative journey with a Bachelor’s degree in Japanese Studies, majoring in Japanese Art History. She then embarked on a successful career in the corporate world, working across multiple industries with multinational companies in Tokyo.

Despite the rewards of corporate life, Mio always nurtured a deep passion for art. After relocating to Australia, she took a courageous step towards her calling by enrolling at Sydney Art School. There, she immersed herself in a variety of mediums, refining her technique and creative voice.

Mio’s art is profoundly influenced by her upbringing, cultural background, and diverse life experiences. Her work reflects a deep appreciation for the fleeting and often overlooked moments in life, capturing their quiet beauty and emotional depth. Whether painting landscapes or portraits, Mio selects the medium that best brings each subject to life, and she continues to explore new techniques with curiosity and dedication.

Beyond her personal practice, Mio finds great fulfilment in teaching. Sharing her artistic knowledge and guiding others on their creative journey brings her immense joy, especially as she witnesses her students’ growth and confidence flourish through art.
