1. Overview

At Sydney Art School, we understand that individuals may may seek professional development to develop specific skills aligned to their career goals without committing to a full qualification program.
To support this need, we offer the flexibility to complete custom packages of individual Units of Competency, resulting in the award of Statements of Attainment — nationally recognized credentials.

This model is ideal for individuals seeking:

2. What Is a Custom Unit of Competency Package?

A custom UoC package refers to a tailored selection of one or more Units of Competency, chosen by the student or recommended by an employer or industry partner.

Students who successfully complete the assessment requirements for the selected units will be issued:

An official Statement of Attainment listing the specific Units of Competency achieved.

Statements of Attainment are issued under our registration as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) in accordance with the Standards for RTOs.

3. Process for Accessing a Custom Package

Step 1: Consultation

Prospective students are encouraged to contact us for a brief consultation to:

Identify the Units of Competency relevant to their professional development goals
Discuss any pre-requisites, if applicable
Confirm delivery options and associated costs

Step 2: Package Proposal

Sydney Art School will prepare a written proposal outlining:

The Units of Competency included
Fees and payment arrangements
Delivery mode (face-to-face, online, or blended)
Assessment requirements
Estimated duration and study load

Step 3: Enrolment and Delivery

Upon acceptance of the proposal:

Students will formally enrol in each selected unit.
Delivery will occur through scheduled classes, workshops, or customized learning pathways as appropriate.

Step 4: Completion and Certification

Upon satisfactory completion of all required assessments:

A Statement of Attainment will be issued listing the completed units.
Students may elect to continue building toward a full qualification if desired.

4. Important Notes

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): Students with existing skills or experience may apply for RPL for one or more units, subject to evidence requirements.
Entry Requirements: Some units may have pre-requisites or assumed prior knowledge; these will be discussed during consultation.
Pathway Opportunities: Completion of selected units may be credited toward full qualifications in Visual Arts or related fields.
National Recognition: Statements of Attainment are recognized under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
