Hi VisitorThis newsletter is to let all of our younger artists know about the Art Gallery of NSW Young Archie 2014 competition. During Term 2 students who wish to participate can work on their submissions during term. We would love to see you be involved and share a photo of your entry on our Facebook Page. Also we are "Introducing" 2 new tutors who are involved in both school student and adult classes - Olena Kosenko and Matthew Kentmann. A short summary of their profiles is included further in this newsletter. Although they started with us in Term 1, things were so busy that we didn't get the chance to properly introduce them. Olena is a consultant tutor and course Director for Children's Classes at Sydney Art School. Her list of awards is impressive and grows at a rate faster than we can keep up with. Her style while grounded in classical fine arts is distinctly contemporary displaying strong design skills often using architectural or industrial subjects with surreal interpretations. Matthew is a professional artist represented by Piermarq Gallery Paddington Sydney. He is an Honours Graduate of College of Fine Arts, holds a Bachelor of Teaching, and is a former teacher at a private school in the northern suburbs of Sydney. Matthew has been a multiple finalist in some of Australia's most prestigous painting and drawing prizes including the Archibald Prize, Doug Moran Portrait Prize and Dobell Prize for Drawing.
